Back to School

 Frost Back to School
2017-18

IMPORTANT For the convenience of families, we will no longer schedule a packet pick up day in August.  Students will receive a packet in late May.  All families are asked to read the important parent information before signing the emergency care cards.  Your signatures on the two pink emergency cards will serve as verification that you have read this information.  It is critical that you check your emergency cards for accuracy and make any necessary changes before returning them.  Please update BOTH cards equally and return to your current school by June 2nd.

We hope this new procedure will eliminate waiting in long lines on schedule pick up day, Thursday, August 24th.

More important information .....

ATTENDANCE . . .

Livonia Public Schools requires parents/guardians to notify their student's school when their student will be absent.  Use the Student Absence Form found on the Frost website under "Quick Links" or from the drop down menu on the Parents Tab.  You may also leave a message on the Frost attendance line.  Dial the main number and follow the prompts.  You will be able to track your student's attendance on Parent Connect.

All students checking in or out of school during the regular school day must report to the Main Office to be recorded for official attendance reasons.  Tardy students must bring a parent note to be excused.  If you need to check your student out during the day, your student should come to the Main Office before school with a note signed by the parent/guardian.

Parents do not need to come into the building when this procedure is followed.  You will be able to pull your car in front of the building across from the main lobby doors and the student will exit the main office.

BUS SERVICE
 . . .

Students in grades K-8 who are eligible for transportation will automatically receive a bus assignment.  MACAT students will need to complete the application mailed to their home, and return it to the Transportation Department.  The transportation department will provide student bus assignments in mid-August.  If you believe you’re eligible and do not have a bus assignment, please email
lpsbus@livoniapublicschools.org or contact the transportation department 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at 734-744-2517.
