Scheduling Middle School Classes for 7th & 8th Grade
A small group of students will be invited to participate in advanced classes for Math and English Language Arts.   Students will receive letter of invitation mid-May.  Receiving the letter does not automatically place your student in the advanced class.  You will need to follow the directions on the letter and respond to Frost to secure placement.

In 6th grade, standardized achievement test scores such as the CogAT, teacher recommendation, and classroom performance are used to determine who will be invited to participate in advanced classes.

In 7th grade, students who have successfully completed an advanced class may be invited to
participate in a sequential advanced class in 8th grade.

If your student is new to Livonia Public Schools, they may need to take a test to determine placement if standardized test scores are not available.
